Glorious, golden-yellow, cup-shaped flowers from July to October and dark green leaves. This lovely, long-flowering, evergreen shrub is perfect for a shrub or mixed border in sun or partial shade. Dense and bushy in habit, it requires moderately-fertile, moist but well-drained soil and protection from cold, drying winds.

Plants of the genus Hypericum (some species have been used since ancient times in the treatment of wounds and inflammations) were apparently gathered and burned to ward off evil spirits on the eve of St. John’s Day, thus giving rise to the genus Botanical Name of St. John’s wort.
